Because I love Christmas I have decided to extend the free concealer brush offer to anyone booking either a lesson or an application during December. This is a lovely brush and one that I use almost every time I do someone’s makeup or give a lesson. Give me a call or fill in the booking form on this website.
With Christmas fast approaching and parties and nights out on the agenda I decided to test a number of eye palettes and this one from Jane Iredale has become one of my favourites. Sometimes you want a smoky eye that is still sexy and sultry (oh yes!) but is also pretty, subtle and soft. It contains five different colours starting with a soft pinky colour which has a little shimmer, then a matte rosey/beige perfect for your crease line, a more intense mulberry/aubergine, a slightly sparkly black which is extremely pretty to line with and finally a very sparkly gold for highlighting. It has quickly become one of my go-to products. It is also very nice during the day when I don’t line quite so dramatically and probably won’t highlight at all. I am not sponsored and don’t sell Jane Iredale makeup, I just like this and thought I would share it with you. For more information on occasion makeup click on The MakeUp Menu above.
Anyone lucky enough to have received one of my lovely new cards through their letterboxes recently and booking a MakeUp Lesson or MakeUp Application before Christmas will receive a free Concealer Brush. The brush I am giving away is the same one I use on all my clients and is my favourite of all the concealer brushes I own (I have a frightening large brush collection!) All you have to do is give me a call or email and then bring the card with you.
Here at The MakeUp Clinic I have been very busy (almost feeling like one of Father Christmas’s Elves) sending out gift vouchers to some very lucky women. Husbands, friends, sisters and mothers have all been treating someone special in their lives. There is still time to order your voucher, if you’re not sure what to buy, give me a call and I can advise. Gift vouchers start at £25 for our simplest makeup application rising to £80 for a full makeup lesson. If you would prefer to buy a voucher with a value so that the lady herself can choose whether to have her makeup applied for a special event or have a lesson I can arrange that too. I will guarantee that she will really enjoy her experience at The MakeUp Clinic.
A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of giving a makeup lesson to Lucy Plevin of My Style Companion. Lucy is a Personal Stylist whose mission is to make ordinary women look fabulous and feel great regardless of their shape, size or budget. She was a really good model and student and has generously offered a discount to The MakeUp Clinics’ customers of £25 off any products or services from www.mystylecompanion.com by using the discount code JW8C4XCQD1. Lucy does personal styling, wardrobe consultations and personal shopping, she really knows her stuff, is very down to earth, personable and a pleasure to spend time with.
Just thought I would share a few of my latest purchases. I am in the process of updating my lipstick collection and this little lot are just a few of my new acquisitions, including a number of new reds for the party season and also a collection of pretty pinks for those not quite confident with a full on red lip (that includes me, I can’t quite move away from Creme Cup by MAC regardless of the season). I have also invested in some more glosses and lip plumping glosses not pictured, also from MAC.I have also been stocking up on some basics from Bobbi Brown, nothing especially exciting but very essential none the less.
My latest acquisition was a new pallette from Charlotte Tilbury called Dolce Vita, it apparently has the most expensive gold pigment available and I think it will make the most beautiful browny/gold smokey eye for Christmas parties etc. it is very beautiful. Please contact me if you fancy trying any of these new beauties!
Here are some of the “magic products” I used. I love doing this kind of makeup.
I recently had a fabulous afternoon doing the makeup for four ladies all going to the same party. Fizz, cakes, tea and lots of fun were had by all.
A very exciting day at The MakeUp Clinic as we are featured in Warrington Worldwide. Please check out the article by following this link http://www.warrington-
Darker nights, colder winds and the end of what little summer we had is upon us, but it is not all bad news particularly if you love a bold lip. Jessica, below, is wearing Russian Red lipstick by Mac. It is by far the most popular red I have in my kit and looks really beautiful on the already gorgeous Jessica. This has been teamed with a light base, Nars Sheer Glow in Santa Fe, eyes using the Mac cool neutral palette in plummy tones which bring out her blue/grey eyes, blush in Mac Something Special and a light bronze using Chanel Soliel Tan. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, at The MakeUp Clinic we don’t hide beauty we enhance it!
