My Knackered Skin Saviour

I hadn’t planned on writing about my love for Estee Lauder’s Revitalizing Supreme CC Cream but I have been feeling rather poorly this week so I thought I would share it with you. Sometimes when you’re not at your best layering on too much makeup can evoke the law of diminishing returns, the more you apply, the worse you look, not good. Too much foundation, concealer etc. rather than making your skin look healthier can just make it look as though you have loads of makeup on! Apart from the final result, when I’m not feeling very well I just can’t be bothered applying my makeup… I know, shocking…

Enter Estee Lauder’s Revitalising Supreme CC Cream, you apply this grey coloured cream with your fingers just like it is moisturiser, no fuss, no brushes. When it is rubbed into the skin it changes colour to match your complexion. I have used this on many clients and apart from those with very fair toned skin or very deep toned skin, it works well on almost everyone. It slightly colour corrects the skin, taking down redness, gives a slight tint and a very subtle radiance. It is not life changing and its effect is very subtle, so if you are used to wearing a proper medium to full coverage foundation you may find that it too sheer. However, if you just want something easy that makes you look a bit better without really wearing any “proper” makeup you might love it too. It just makes you look less shit, sorry for the description, but it really is the best way to describe what it does.

As well as using this to perk up my complexion I also use it as a kind of primer for days when I want to look more pulled together and grown up. I apply it all over my face and then use a very small amount of proper foundation where I need it (usually in the centre of my face), this gives a lovely radiance without looking as though you are wearing too much makeup.

I love it. It’s not cheap, £43, but if you like something for the days when you are not feeling your best or just for “no makeup days” you might love it too.
